Yes, we have improved the background blur and effects! We are aware of the issue you're pointing out and are working on it. We plan to deploy a fix for it this week. Apologies in the interim!

Any plans on adding additional integration from Banuba, like filters with Daily JS?

We are certainly considering that. We're first looking to roll out background blur and effects to existing platforms, then adding support to new platforms (namely Safari). Once that's done, we'll look into other parts of the Face AR SDK, which would be in Q1 at the soonest.

We've temporarily disabled the custom background feature while we investigate the issue. We'll be rolling it back out very soon! Apologies for the disruption.

Hello! Investigating Daily — are background blur and background images available via the iOS SDK yet? Doesn't seem so AFAICT…

@cpatterson_dox not at the moment, but we've started work to add them in as of the start of the year. You'll see support for background blur and images appear in an upcoming changelog.
We've partnered with Banuba on background processing, so the addition of this feature should be rather quick.1 -
Hi Mark, @mark_at_daily , is either the Background blur or Background Change feature available for iOS SDK???

@venus we’re adding this for iOS right now. I expect it to be available for iOS at some point in March.
