Every time someone uses Android to participate in a meeting, the audio is low. Did I set up something wrong?

  • The best way around this is to tell the call participant running into this issue on Android to switch to a different microphone during the call, and it will cause the output to switch too.

Here’s why: This is expected behavior on Android (although not ideal in cases like a WebRTC call) because the microphone and the sound output are always set to the same device. For example, if the default mic is your earpiece, then the default output will also be the earpiece, which leads to really low output volume. There are threads in Android forums reporting this behavior as a bug that date back for several years. But as of now, Android hasn’t adjusted that behavior.
